Stittsville Friendship Club

A FRIEND is one of THE BEST THINGS YOU CAN BE and one of                      THE BEST THINGS YOU CAN HAVE.

Our sole purpose is to provide more social activities for adults and seniors in the Ottawa area and to encourage interaction within the community through our support of charities and student bursaries. 

 

Our current activities include bridge and euchre card groups, book club, exercise classes, shuffle board, and line dancing, monthly luncheons including local entertainers, excursions and trips to theatres, plays, comedy shows and other places of interest, and support for community charities.

 

Our Club was established in 1982, currently has  more than 300 members and is growing. We currently have members from Barrhaven, Richmond, Carp, Stittsville, Kanata North and Kanata South and further south in Goulbourn, Munster and Ashton.

We welcome all older adults and we will continue to structure existing activities and introduce new activities as requested by our members.

​

We are looking for new members and asking for more volunteers to help us manage activities, coordinate trips and excursions, assist with marketing and recruitment, Chair several Committees that are currently vacant and prepare themselves to fill Executive Positions.

Membership provides a large base for friendship and a variety of activities for our members.   New Membership is $20.00 and yearly renewal is $15.00.

 

Membership also provides opportunities for volunteers to help grow our Club.  Join us by contacting any executive member.

Stittsville Friendship Club By-Laws

Volunteers

We need volunteers to take an active role in our club.  We need volunteers who can share the organizing duties, act as replacements when needed, and fill current vacant positions. 


We have our Luncheon Coordinators to thank for organizing our monthly luncheons with entertainment and our caterers for providing great food. 


We also have to thank our Executive Members and Heads of Committees, who are also all volunteers, for organizing our activities such as exercise, bridge, euchre, cribbage, 

shuffleboard, entertainment, line dancing and trips and excursions.

We are growing and we need help with many of our 

organizing activities so we can continue to expand and to provide you with the services you need.

This is an appeal for help.  We need volunteers to take an active role in our club.  We need volunteers who can share the organizing duties, act as replacements when needed, 

and fill current vacant positions.
